Ashes Series 2nd Test 5th Day….

On the final of 2nd ashes test, Australia began their 2nd innings with well settled “Mr.Cricket” M.Hussey and completely unsettled “Mr.Confused” I mean M.North who is probably the weakest link in Australian batting line up.

Swann, also started right from where he had left yesterday, spinning ball miles and it didn’t took him longer to take the edge of Mike Hussey straight after his half century but Prior was not able to get hold of that, giving Hussey all important another life. Unfortunately for the Aussies and Hussey he didn’t capitalize the opportunity provided and threw his wicket to Finn in sixth over of the day.

After that no real resistance was provided either from weather or by lower order. Anderson picked consecutive wickets of  Haddin and Ryan Harris who became only the 2nd Australian to bag a king pair.

Then, it was Swann who finished the job by picking up crucial wicket of North (as he was only recognized batsman left) in very next over. He didn’t take long to clear Doherty and last wicket of  Peter Siddle.

England finished things of with in 90 minutes, and won 2nd ashes test by an innings and 71 runs to take 1-0 lead in five match series.

Man Of The Day: Without any doubt it was Greame Swann who picked 3 out of 6 wickets today, finishing with 5 for 91 in his 42nd over.

Flop Of The Day: I think Marcus North richly deserved this title for his another failure.

Man Of The Match: Kevin Petersen was awarded man of the match for his career best score of 227 runs.

News: Sad news for England is that Stuart Broad is out of the series falling to his abdomen injury While for Australia Simon Katich will not be available for the whole series because of  Achilles tendon problem.

Next match will be played at Perth and will start on 16th December. One thing is for sure England only has to win 1 more match to retain the ‘URN’.
