Kallis was awarded Man Of The Match on his brilliant double century

with SreeSanth. After the start Steyn and Morkel didn’t wait long picking up last two Indian wickets with in 6 overs and conceding only 5 runs.

As a result, South Africa won the match by an innings and 25 runs. Tendulkar remained unbeaten on 111 and Steyn picked four wickets, helping South Africa to take 1-0 lead in 3 match series.

Indian tried hard on the 4th day, especially their captain Dhoni and ‘Little Master’ Sachin Tendulkar but the in the end deficit proved to be too much. Dhoni scored 90 while Tendulkar finally reached his 50th test century.

All Other batsmen also got starts but were not able to capitalize. In fact India lost 4 wickets including night watchman I Sharma, Dravid, Laxman and Raina in the opening session of 4th day. Then, Dhoni joined Tendulkar and provided great resistance against African bowling.

After the dismissal of Dhoni, India again lost path, falling early in the 5th morning lagging behind by 25 runs that were needed to avoid innings defeat.

The foundation of African victory was led on the first day, when Indians were put into bat after losing toss. They lost their 9 wickets scoring just 136 runs in 38 overs that were bowled during first day.

Then, South African batsmen made complete use of the opportunity provided, every one chipping in and scoring freely to the toothless Indian bowling. Kallis scored his first double century while De Villiers scored the fastest test century by an African. Amla also got 140 runs.

After that it was a tough job for India in which they fail, although tried very hard.

Jacques Kallis was awarded man of the match for his double century. Next match of the series will begin on 26th December.
